Following their work together on “Army of the Dead and “Rebel Moon,” filmmaker Zack Snyder is reuniting with Netflix for a new untitled action feature.
This one will be centered around the Los Angeles Police Department and is said to be the director’s first “truly grounded” feature.
Specific details are under wraps but will be a “visceral character-driven” piece centered on an elite LAPD unit that is “relentlessly confronted with the unforgiving collision of law and morality”.
Its familiar subject matter for Snyder who, in his early days, landed his first feature film with the 2003 “S.W.A.T.” movie at Sony. He exited the project early though as he wanted to make an R-rated movie and the studio wanted a PG-13.
Snyder will direct and is co-writing with Kurt Johnstad (“300”). Snyder is also producing along with wife and partner Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller.
Snyder also produced the film “Army of Thieves” and recent animated series “Twilight of the Gods” for the streamer.
