Paramount Pictures has premiered a second trailer for “Better Man,” a new biopic about British pop singer Robbie Williams that takes whole different approach to the genre.
The film uses a computer-generated monkey in place of Robbie to tell a story that otherwise plays out like a typical musician biopic.
The film tells the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of the British pop superstar who first came to notice as a member of boy band sensation Take That.
He broke out on his own, battling demons (mental illness, depression, obesity, alcoholism, substance abuse) both on and off the stage, and achieving stardom on the back of solo hits like “Angels,” “Feel,” “Supreme,” “Millennium,” “Rock DJ,” “Let Me Entertain You,” “She’s the One,” and “No Regrets”.
He has sold at least 80 million records and his tours are instant sellouts worldwide and holds a Guinness record for selling 1.6 million tickets for a tour in a day.
The project is helmed by “The Greatest Showman” director Michael Gracey and will hit select U.S. theatres December 25th ahead of a wide release on January 17th.
