Australian actress and visual artist Jess Bush, who plays Nurse Chapel in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” on the Paramount+ service, has offered an update on the show’s production.
Filming on the show’s third season wrapped in May and the series has already been renewed for a fourth season though it wasn’t clear when it would begin.
Then Paul Wesley indicated a few weeks ago he would return to the show’s set for the fourth season in February, but it wasn’t clear if that was for pre-production or filming.
Speaking with New York’s PIX 11 News (via TrekMovie, Bush confirms the fourth season will start shooting in March at CBS Stages Canada. Work on the fourth season is already well underway as all ten episodes for the season were mapped out by late July.
They should be kicking off about the same time the currently filming first season of “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” wraps production at Pinewood Studios also in Toronto.
As for when the third season is coming to screens, Bush says:
“Season 3 we finished, but it hasn’t hit the screens yet. That will hopefully come out early next year. They have kept it under wraps for us as well so we are not one hundred percent sure, but it’s coming soon.”
As “Starfleet Academy” isn’t debuting until 2026, the only “Star Trek” out in 2025 will be the “Section 31” film in January and the third season of SNW.
