It has been a busy few days for trailers with new ones for February’s “Captain America: Brave New World” and May’s “Thunderbolts*” and “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” going online.
In fact, many films opening in the first half of next year have already got a trailer of some sort out, with a notable handful of exceptions (“28 Years Later,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Karate Kid: Legends,” “The Accountant 2,” etc.).
One of the trailers yet to debut but is highly anticipated will be the first look at James Gunn’s “Superman”. Gunn had previously indicated he was working on the trailer which will be debuting sometime soon.
Today on Threads, he was asked by an eager fan why the film’s trailer isn’t out yet considering so many other 2025 titles lately have posted trailers – citing those aforementioned three lately. Gunn responded that’s it done but not released yet because it’s too early: “It’s on my hard drive. But, seriously, all three of those projects come out months before us.”
Just when the clip will premiere isn’t clear. The CCXP Expo takes place in São Paulo, Brazil in the first week of December where Warner Bros. Discovery is expected to have a presence. That’s one possibility.
Another comes from CBM today who claim the trailer will debut on Christmas Day during one of the scheduled NBA games. Either way if the trailer hits next month, it will be arriving a good seven months ahead of the film’s release.
