The Legend of Zelda
Nintendo has revealed in its financial report that “The Legend of Zelda” movie will arrive before 2030, but wouldn’t get more specific in regards to a potential release window. The company has its “Super Mario Bros. Movie” sequel coming first though in 2026. [Source: IGN]
Marvel
Speaking at a recent Tokyo International Film Festival event, “Godzilla Minus One” director Takashi Yamazaki spoke about interacting with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige who was inspired by his “Godzilla” film in terms of quality at a reasonable cost.
Yamazaki says: “The president of Marvel told me, ‘Wadatsumi!’. He told me, ‘We’re all having meetings every day to see if we can make it happen like that.’ I think it’s just lip service.” [Source: Virtual Gorilla Plus]
Kraven the Hunter
Sony and Marvel’s “Kraven the Hunter” reportedly clocks in at a runtime of 119 minutes – the longest feature to date in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, surpassing “Madame Web” at 116 minutes. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger and Alessandro Nivola lead the cast. [Source: CBM]
I Know What You Did Last Summer
Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Austin Nichols and Gabbriette have joined the Jennifer Kaytin Robinson-directed sequel to 1997’s teen horror film “I Know What You Did Last Summer” at Sony Pictures.
They join already cast Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Jonah Haur-King and Freddie Prinze Jr. Jennifer Love Hewitt is also in talks to return. Sony releases the film on July 18th 2025. [Source: Deadline]
Oscars
Ryan Reynolds says while he would love to host the Oscars with Hugh Jackman at some point, not this year: “One day I’d love to do that, I don’t know about this year, but one day, yeah.” The 97th annual Academy Awards airs Sunday, March 2nd. [Source: Deadline]
