Grand Theft Auto VI
Take-Two Interactive has confirmed in a quarterly earnings report today that “Grand Theft Auto VI” is still on track for a release in Fall 2025 – no delays. No word as to when a second trailer for the title will be released. [Source: Indy100]
Michael
The release date for Antoine Fuqua’s Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” has been delayed by several months – moving from April 18th 2025 to October 3rd 2025.
The new date has it opening opposite the Channing Tatum-led “Roofman” and a week before “TRON: Ares”. Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, stars in the title role alongside Colman Domingo, Nia Long and Miles Teller.
Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo has confirmed that its successor to the Nintendo Switch will be backward compatible with the Switch – meaning Switch games will be playable on the device.
They add that Nintendo Switch Online will also be available on the successor. Nintendo reiterated it still intends to announce its next console hardware before the end of March 2025. [Source: VGC]
Marty Supreme
The Timothée Chalamet-led film “Marty Supreme,” about a 1950s ping-pong star and loosely based on Marty Reisman’s life, will be A24’s joint most expensive film to date with a budget of at least $70 million and potentially up to $90 million.
It shares the honor with the upcoming Dwayne Johnson-led sports biopic “The Smashing Machine”. Both films are directed by a Safdie brother – Josh on ‘Marty’ and Benny on ‘Smashing’. [Source: Deadline]
Missing You
Netflix has set a January 1st 2025 premiere date for “Missing You,” the next mystery TV show from Harlan Coben. The show arrives exactly one year after “Fool Me Once” hit on New Year’s Day this year and became a smash hit.
Rosalind Eleazar plays Detective Kat Donovan who is swiping profiles on a dating app and suddenly sees the face of her fiance who went missing years ago. His reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder. [Source: X]
