Amazon Prime Video has officially released the first trailer for “Unstoppable,” a new biopic about wrestling champion Anthony Robles.
“Moonlight” star Jharrel Jerome leads the cast as Robles, a wrestler born with only one leg and goes on to become a NCAA Division 1 champion wrestler despite the odds.
He ultimately goes on to win a national championship against the school that rejected him in Iowa. The work is based on the book that Robles authored – “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion”.
Also starring are Jennifer Lopez as Judy Robles, Bobby Cannavale as Rick Robles, Don Cheadle as Coach Shawn Charles, and Michael Peña as Coach Bobby Williams. Robles himself will perform as Jherome’s stunt double.
Oscar-winning editor William Goldenberg (“Heat,” “The Insider,” “The Imitation Game”) makes his feature directorial debut on the project which was penned by Eric Champnella, Alex Harris, and John Hindman.
Ben Affleck, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Andrew Fraser, Gary Lewis, and David Crockett will produce. “Unstoppable” is set to release in select theaters on December 6th before a wide release on Prime Video on January 16th 2025.
