Project Hail Mary
Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s next directorial effort, an adaptation of “The Martian” author Andy Weir’s novel “Project Hail Mary,” has wrapped production ahead of a planned March 20th 2026 release.

Drew Goddard adapted the script in which a science teacher (Ryan Gosling) embarks on a space-bound expedition to save the human race. Sandra Hüller co-stars. [Source: X]

Untitled Spike Jonze Series
A new report indicates that Spike Jonze’s scrapped sci-fi Netflix series, which had Brad Pitt and Joaquin Phoenix in talks to star, was on track to cost an eye-watering $30 million an episode. The project was supposed to clock in at around 10 episodes. [Source: WoR]

The Land of Nod
Kyle Edward Ball, the writer and director of 2023’s micro-budget horror tale “Skinamarink,” is set to write and direct “The Land of Nod” for A24. Plot specifics are under wraps.

Wicked
Universal Pictures has released a featurette for the upcoming film adaptation of “Wicked”. This clip goes into how the production recorded the singing live on-set while the actors were performing their scenes, as opposed to adding the music in later or lip-syncing. The film itself opens in cinemas November 22nd.

Fear Street: Prom Queen
Netflix has unveiled a poster for “Fear Street: Prom Queen,” the fourth entry into their film series based on R. L. Stine’s “Fear Street” books. India Fowler Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Chris Klein, Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston star.

Set in 1988, between the first and second films, it adapts Stine’s “The Prom Queen”. When a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated for the position, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night. The film will release sometime next year.
