Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser and Bryan Cranston will join Al Pacino in veteran filmmaker Barry Levinson’s period mystery thriller “Assassination”.

David Mamet, Levinson and Sam Bromell penned the script for the film which is said to be a new, part murder mystery-part film noir spin on the JFK conspiracy.

Chastain plays famed journalist Dorothy Kilgallen, dubbed the first female crime reporter in America. Kilgallen was the only woman to ever cover the JFK case and the only reporter to speak with Jack Ruby.

She suspects that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone and uses her influence in an effort to find President John F. Kennedy’s real killer, including back-channel sources to the Warren Commission.

This puts her up against the CIA, mafia bosses and the FBI, all who would love nothing more than to make her and the story disappear.

Levinson says: “She started putting pieces together that no one else did. She died under very suspicious circumstances, but it was never investigated.”

Corey Large and Jason Sosnoff produce and filming is set to begin in early 2025 in Boston.
