Netflix has premiered the trailer for “That Christmas,” a new animated feature based on the children’s books by award-winning “Notting Hill” and “Love Actually” writer/director Richard Curtis.
The heartwarming comedy follows a series of entwined tales about family and friends, love and loneliness, and Santa Claus making a big mistake, not to mention an enormous number of turkeys.
This marks Curtis’ first foray into animation, the filmamker penning the script and executive producing. The project marks the feature directorial debut of renowned animation veteran Simon Otto.
The voice cast includes Brian Cox as Santa Claus, Fiona Shaw as Ms. Trapper, Jodie Whittaker as Mrs. Williams, Bill Nighy as Bill along with Rhys Darby, Katherine Parkinson, Paul Kaye and many more.
John Powell is composing the film’s score while Ed Sheeran will contribute an original song exclusive to the film and its soundtrack titled “Under the Tree”.
Locksmith Animation is handling the animation for the film which Nicole P. Hearon and Adam Tandy produce. “That Christmas” had its world premiere the other week in the UK and premieres on Netflix on December 4th.
