20th Century Studios has posted a first-look photo of “The Bear” star Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere”.
The project is based on Warren Zanes’ book of the same name and is set to focus on the making of Springsteen’s sixth album “Nebraska” in 1982.
Though it lacks his most famous tracks like “Born in the U.S.A.,” “Glory Days,” or “Hungry Heart,” it remains one of the most highly regarded albums in his catalogue with a solemn and thoughtful tone and challenging subject matter.
Scott Cooper is adapting the script and will direct, while Eric Robinson and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein are producing. Springsteen remains a music icon famed for his energetic live performances and celebrating working-class American life.
Springsteen has sold more than 71 million albums in the U.S. and over 140 million worldwide.
White most recently starred in “The Iron Claw” has another season of “The Bear” coming.
