Though Tom Cruise may have wrapped work on an eighth “Mission: Impossible,” the actor isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
A new Variety report indicates that “Birdman” and “The Revenant” director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s next film, starring Cruise, could begin filming as early as next month in the UK.
That project is setup at Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Entertainment. Iñárritu, Nicolas Giacobone Alexander Dinelaris, and Sabina Berman wrote the script, but plot detaild are under wraps.
Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons and Sophie Wilde co-star in the film which is Cruise’s first under his new deal at Warner Bros. Discovery.
Once Cruise wraps production, he’s expected to do promotional rounds for that eighth ‘Mission’ opening late May. Then he’ll jump to filming Christopher McQuarrie’s “Broadsword” in the back half of 2025.
Marion Cotillard and Henry Cavill are rumored for that WW2 film about a marine captain and sole survivor of a crash in occupied France.
