Fire Country: Surfside
Jared Padalecki has extended a first-look deal with CBS to develop and produce new series projects across linear and streaming.
It has also been revealed he’s set for a three-episode arc on “Fire Country” which could serve as a launchpad for a potential spinoff being referred to as “Fire Country: Surfside” built around his SoCal firefighter character named Camden. No writer is currently attached. [Source: Deadline]
Blue Moon
Richard Linklater’s “Blue Moon,” shot over the Summer, is reportedly targeting a May 2025 cinema release through Sony Pictures Classics. Ethan Hawke, Margaret Qualley, Andrew Scott and Bobby Cannavale star.
The Robert Kaplow-penned film follows the songwriting team of Rodgers & Hart, it takes place oin the opening night of musical “Oklahoma!” – marking Rodgers’s first collaboration with Oscar Hammerstein II. Linklater also has the film “Nouvelle Vague” on the way next year. [Source: World of Reel]
Bugatti
Having produced the “Ferrari” and “Lamborghini” biopics, and having already announced a Maserati movie, Italian producer Andrea Iervolino isn’t stopping there.
Iervolino will produce a new English-language biopic about Ettore Bugatti, founded the famed Bugatti car company, which is slated to film late next year. A U.S. and international cast is being sought. [Source: Deadline]
Gladiator II
Paramount Pictures has premiered a new featurette for Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II” showcasing the physical training and prep that the actors, specifically Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal, did for the film.
The clip comes as the next wave of reviewers have seen the film and posted gushing reactions to it as well. Early screenings for the movie are set to continue ahead of the film’s opening November 14th in Australia, 15th in the UK and 22nd in the United States.
