The Running Man
Lee Pace (“Foundation,” “The Hobbit”) is joining the cast of Edgar Wright’s dystopian thriller “The Running Man” at Paramount Pictures. The film is based on Stephen King’s 1982 novel of the same name and opens November next year.
Pace will be playing a brutal chief hunter who has been tasked to track down Glen Powell’s lead character. Josh Brolin, Katy O’Brian, Karl Glusman, and Daniel Exra co-star. [Source: THR]
Amulet
Netflix has begun development on a feature film adaptation of Kazu Kibuishi’s graphic novel series “Amulet” with Jason Fuchs to write the script. Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Dan Levine will produce.
The series follows a young woman who discovers a magical amulet and uses it to enter a fantastical new world. The series has sold more than 7 million copies in North America. [Source: Deadline]
Lioness
Paramount+ has released a first look clip from the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s spy series “Lionesss” which returns October 27th.
Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman return for the new season which sees the Lioness program focus on a target closer to US borders and requires them to enlist a new recruit.
The Walking Dead: Dead City
AMC used New York Comic Con yesterday to unveil a first teaser trailer for the second season of its spin-off series “The Walking Dead: Dead City” which returns Spring 2025. The series follows Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they navigate post-apocalyptic Manhattan.
Cross
Amazon Prime Video has released a new clip of Aldis Hodge‘s Detective Alex Cross at work in the new crime thriller series “Cross” premiering November 14th. Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Eloise Mumford and Ryan Eggold co-star.
Promoted at New York Comic Con on Friday, the clip has Cross grilling a serial killer suspect (Jeremy Walmsley) who insists he won’t confess, even though the detective reveals he already did.
