Just a week after the fourth season finale aired, Apple TV+ has announced that they have renewed their highly acclaimed espionage thriller series “Slow Horses” for a sixth season.
The news comes as the Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden and Kristin Scott Thomas-led series is about to wrap production on a fifth season which is expected out next year.
An official logline for the sixth season reads: “Season six sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.”
In a key change from past seasons, the sixth season is set to adapt not one but two of Mick Herron’s Slough House novels – the sixth and seventh novels “Joe Country” and “Slough House”.
It’s not clear if that change will be reflected in the episode count at present. Eight novels have been published so far with a ninth on the way next year.
The series stars Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner, Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, Samuel West as Peter Judd, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander, Ruth Bradley as Emma Flyte, Tom Brooke as J.K. Coe, Joanna Scanlan as Moira Tregorian, and Jonathan Pryce as David Cartwright.
A trailer for the fifth season is up on YouTube.
