Amazon has released the teaser trailer for the third season of the superhero animated series “Invincible” which returns February 6th – and this time with no mid-season break.
In the trailer Mark (Steven Yeun) is visited by Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins), the head of the Global Defense Agency, in a diner. Stedman berates Mark on why he hasn’t been preparing to fight any Viltrumites.
No insight into the new season, beyond the release patter, was revealed. The series centers around Mark Grayson who begins to develop superpowers like super strength, flight, and super speed.
He then begins to train to use his abilities under the guidance of his father, Nolan Grayson, who is Omni-Man – one of the most powerful superheroes on Earth.
The gap between the first and second seasons was over two years, but comic creator/producer Robert Kirkman previously indicated that any future seasons won’t have anywhere near as long a gap – that has proven to be true with these new episodes coming less than a year after the second season’s second half aired back in March.
Sandra Oh, J.K. Simmons, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Chris Diamantopoulos, Sterling K. Brown, Rob Delaney, Calista Flockhart, Phil LaMarr, Luke MacFarlane, Tatiana Maslany, Scott McNairy, Jay Pharoah, Ella Purnell, Tim Robinson, Ben Schwartz, Rhea Seehorn, Lea Thompson, Paul F. Tompkins, Shantel VanSanten, and Peter Cullen all lend their voices to the series.
