The first photos and poster are for “Sinister,” “Doctor Strange” and “The Black Phone” director Scott Derrickson’s new thriller film “The Gorge” starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy.
The pair play elite snipers – one American, the other Lithuanian – stationed in watchtowers on opposing sides of a vast and highly classified gorge whose exact location even they are not allowed to know.
Their mission? To safeguard the outside world from undisclosed, mysterious evil that lurks within. The pair bond from a distance while trying to stay vigilant in defending against an unseen enemy.
However, when the cataclysmic threat to humanity is revealed to them, they must work together in a test of both their physical and mental strength to keep the secret in the gorge before it’s too late.
In a statement to IGN, Derrickson says the story: “blends multiple genres romance, science fiction, action, spy thriller and even horror”. Zach Dean (“The Tomorrow War”) pens the film which also stars Sigourney Weaver and was shot in the UK in 2023.
Derrickson, Dean, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, C. Robert Cargill, Sherryl Clark, Adam Kolbrenner and Greg Goodman produce. Apple TV+ will release “The Gorge” in 2025.
