Samara Weaving and the directing team of Radio Silence are set to re-team for a sequel to their 2019 dark comedy horror hit “Ready or Not” at Searchlight Pictures.
Written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, the original film starred Weaving a young newlywed who learns of her new family’s wedding night ritual: pulling a card from a puzzle card game.
If someone draws the Hide and Seek card, as she does, then a murderous game is played, all in order to appease an ancient family deal with the devil. Adam Brody, Henry Czerny and Andie MacDowell co-starred.
Radio Silence consists of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett who co-directed the first film, and Chad Villella who executive produced it.
Made for $6 million, “Ready or Not” grossed over $28 million domestically and scored strong reviews and strong home entertainment revenue.
Tripp Vinson, Bradley J. Fischer, William Sherak and James Vanderbilt are returning as producers for the sequel. Plot specifics are under wraps but Busick and Murphy will again be penning the script.
