According to a report from DanielRPK, the next phase of the MCU is starting to solidify filming plans as the pieces all start to fall into place. Daniel Destin Cretton will be heading to the UK in May next year for the start of filming on Spider-Man 4.
That will be filmed until October. Avengers: Doomsday will also spin up at the same time, and also film in London. The scooper says Robert Downey Jr. will be on set for around three months. Other lead characters will be around for about a month, and those with smaller roles will be needed for about two weeks each. Overall, the shoot will be about five months long.
MyTimeToShineHello has dropped a rumor that Doctor Doom will have a role in Spider-Man 4, and that Parker and Von Doom will have some sort of encounter before Spidey plays a key role in Avenger: Doomsday. There have been reports that Downey will first appear as Doctor Doom in the credits scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but Marvel has not confirmed that as fact.
Basically, it sounds as if Spidey is taking up most of Holland’s 2025.
Julius Onah’s Captain America: Brave New World is set for release on Feb. 14, 2025, and Jake Schreier’s Thunderbolts is set for May 2, 2025. Phase 6 will then kick off on July 25, 2025, with Matt Shakman’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Joe and Anthony Russo (aka the Russo brothers) will helm both Doomsday and Secret Wars. According to a report in Variety, part of Downey’s agreement to return was contingent on the Russos directing both movies.
Avengers: Doomsday will hit cinemas on 1 May 2026, with its follow-up Avengers: Secret Wars set to drop a year later on 7 May 2027. Of course, there’s every chance these dates could shift as production on Doomsday begins.
