Lionsgate has snagged the original feature “The Professionals” for 87Eleven Entertainment and Mandalay Pictures.
The story is described as “Clue” meets “John Wick” and follows a group of contract killers stranded in an English countryside estate when one of them is murdered.
The remaining group has to solve the death. Despite the name similarity, the project has no link to the famed 1970s UK action series of the same name.
Hunter Perot, grandson of late former presidential candidate Ross Perot, wrote the initial draft with “The Dark Knight Rises” stuntman-turned-writer Madison Turner penning the current draft.
Turner penned 2017’s “6 Below,” the Blacklist script “The Liberators” which is at Warner Bros. Pictures, and worked on the Netflix film “Adam” which is set to star Anthony Mackie.
“John Wick” franchise director Chad Stahelski is producing along with Alex Young, Jason Spitz, Jason Michael Berman and Jordan Moldo. Stahelski is gearing up to direct his “Highlander” reboot next.
