A24 has premiered a third and final trailer for its new horror feature “Heretic” which sees Hugh Grant tackle his first horror film in years.
The British legend plays a man who is visited by two young Mormon missionaries played by Chloe East (“The Fabelmans”) and Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”) whom he puts through a series of intense psychological games.
With 49 reviews counted, the film sits at a strong 92% (7.5/10) on Rotten Tomatoes with universal praise for Grant’s performance and plenty of love for the film which has been dubbed provocative and tackles topics of faith and power.
The project hails from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the duo who penned “A Quiet Place” along with “Haunt,” “65” and “The Boogeyman”.
Shot in Vancouver last fall under a guild-approved interim agreement, the film also stars Elle McKinnon, River Codack, Carolyn Adair, Stephanie Lavigne and Elle Young.
Beck, Woods, Katie Aquino, Scott Beck, Liliane Bedford, Julia Glausi, Kai Raka, Stacey Sher and Jeanette Volturno all produce. “Heretic” opens in cinemas November 8th.
