Back in July whilst promoting the director’s cut releases of his “Rebel Moon” movies, filmmaker Zack Snyder revealed his next film was likely to be smaller scale and shy away from VFX.
The aim was to do something different before he gets back to his usual big-budget action fare. Now, World of Reel reports that the project in question will be set in the world of UFC.
They indicate that the film, which isn’t at Netflix, will be Snyder’s next and he co-wrote the screenplay with “King Richard” scribe Zach Baylin.
The project is reportedly planned as a theatrical film, with the UFC reportedly being directly involved. Location filming will include Las Vegas and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
They also indicate Adam Driver has been ‘approached’ for the lead role but nothing more than that as it’s still too early for casting. Driver’s schedule is fairly clear for now bar his rumored involvement in Michael Mann’s “Heat 2”.
If accurate, it looks to be Snyder’s “smallest” film since his well-received 2004 breakout movie “Dawn of the Dead”.
