A February 27th 2026 release date has officially been announced for a seventh film in the “Scream” series. It marks the first film to take that date.
Both actress Neve Campbell and writer/director Kevin Williamson announced the date via their social media channels.
Campbell is reprising her role as Sidney Prescott after she didn’t return for “Scream VI” due to a salary dispute. Williamson, who wrote the first four “Scream” movies, is directing.
Plot details remain under wraps at this time. It’s not clear who else will return beyond the exiting of both actresses Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.
Further casting should be announced shortly as filming is reportedly slated to begin in December according to Campbell back in July.
The script is being written by Guy Busick, while James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein are producing and Radio Silence will executive produce for Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media.
