Former “The Wire” alums Wendell Pierce and Chris Bauer have both reportedly joined the cast of the “Thunderbolts*” film at Marvel Studios.
A Marvel press release listing posted to Getty Images has offered a breakdown of the cast with those two names the only new additions not previously reported.
Shot in Atlanta, Utah and New York earlier this year, the film sees the team-up of some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s anti-heroes and villains as they go on missions for the government.
Effectively Marvel’s Suicide Squad, the team includes Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.
Also onboard are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Geraldine Viswanathan as Valentina’s assistant, Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster, Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff and Lewis Pullman as Sentry.
Jake Schreier helms the film from a script from Joanna Calo, Lee Sung Jin, and Eric Pearson. Marvel’s “Thunderbolts*” is set for a May 2nd 2025 release.
