Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos and Jeremy Pope are set to lead Ryan Murphy’s new FX series “The Beauty” based on the 2016 Image Comics title.
Murphy and Matthew Hodgson (“American Sports Story,” “911”) co-created the series with story details being kept under wraps.
Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley penned the original comic which is set in a world where a sexually transmitted disease spreads across the world.
The contagion spreads quickly, largely because it makes people more physically attractive. Two detectives, however, stumble on a conspiracy surrounding its origins.
Murphy, Hodgson, Peters, Ramos, Pope, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich and Eric Gitter will executive produce.
Production will begin in the Fall with 20th Television producing. It follows a run of Murphy-produced series launches of this month following FX’s “Grotesquerie” and “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez,” Netflix’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” and even ABC’s “Doctor Odyssey”.
