The “Sonic the Hedgehog” films have introduced several creature characters from the games including Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) and Knuckles (Idris Elba) with Shadow (Keanu Reeves) coming in the third film.
Recently an old rumor was resurrected suggesting that “American Horror Story” alum Sarah Paulson will make an appearance in the third film, taking on the voice role of Rouge the Bat.
However, Paulson has now shot that reports down. Out promoting her new psychological thriller “Hold Your Breath” hitting Hulu next week, she tells ComicBook.com that while the report is untrue, she’s very open to joining the franchise if the offer is there:
“Nobody has called me about playing Rouge the Bat, but I would like them to. No one has asked me to do this, so whatever that rumor is, I can debunk for you right now. But if someone wants to call — if you want to send it to the people who make it happen, I am down to.”
She also says she’s very keen to do a comic book film, saying she wants to be in one “SO badly” and citing her only effort in the genre being “The Spirit” back in 2008 which “nobody really watched it and nobody really cared about”.
She adds: “I got to have that experience, but like… I’d like to have one where people might actually give a s—.”
“Sonic the Hedgehog 3” is currently set for a December 20th release.
