Ubisoft has officially delayed the release of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” by three months – pushing the title from November 12th to February 14th 2025.

A delay was expected after Ubisoft cancelled its online appearance at the Tokyo Game Show yesterday due to ‘various circumstances’.

Subsequently, it was quickly revealed that the studio had also cancelled its press previews of the game next week, a game which has drawn controversy in recent months.

Ubisoft indicates the delay is in part to avoid a similar situation happening with this as what happened with the launch of “Star Wars Outlaws”. Here’s their statement:

“While the game is feature complete, the learnings from the Star Wars Outlaws release led us to provide additional time to further polish the title. This will enable the biggest entry in the franchise to fully deliver on its ambition, notably by fulfilling the promise of our dual protagonist adventure, with Naoe and Yasuke bringing two very different gameplay styles.”

Ubisoft may also be stepping back from its commitment to the Epic Games Store, confirming the title will be available on on Steam on launch day.
