A nearly two week old report has been confirmed – “The Old Guard” and “Rust and Bone” actor Matthias Schoenaerts has been cast as the villain in the “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” film at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures.
Schoenaerts will play Krem of the Yellow Hills who will reportedly serve as the main villain of the film which is based on the comic series by Tom King.
“House of the Dragon” star Milly Alcock is set to play Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in the project with filming slated to begin in January in the UK. Casting for supporting roles is underway.
In the comics, Krem is a skilled and ruthless swordsman and archer who kills the father of the secondary female lead character Ruthye Marye Knoll, and injures Kara’s dog Krypto.
“Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” will serve as the second DCU movie to release in theaters, arriving on June 26th 2026 – a full year after James Gunn’s “Superman” arrives in July 2025.
Craig Gillespie is set to direct the film which will be a more edgy version of the character. Actress and playwright Ana Nogueira is penning the script.
