Making his first feature film since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ryan Coogler is to tackle the supernatural. He started shooting his 1930s-set vampire movie back in April and details have been kept under wraps.

We know it stars Michael B. Jordan, and that it was set in the Deep South. Now online scoopers have revealed more.

The project, set against the backdrop of the Jim Crow South, will have vampires at its center but also take in other Southern supernatural traditions. The South has long been steeped in beliefs about ghosts, spirits, and witchcraft largely based on imported belief systems from various cultures.

DanielRPK reports that the movie will be titled Sinners.

The scoop also says Jordan will play two lead roles – that of twin brothers. According to the blurb:

“Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”

Are they not the vampires? It sounds like it. The cast includes Delroy Lindo, Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku and Jack O’Connell. O’Connell is rumored to be playing a villain. Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, Lola Kirke, and Christian Robinson round out the roster.

Coogler wrote the script and is producer along with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.
