New details have emerged regarding “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler’s next film, his 1930s-set vampire movie starring Michael B. Jordan.
The project began shooting in April and set photos confirmed the period setting with the action seemingly taking place in the ‘Deep South’ of the United States.
The project has been rumored to unfold in the Jim Crow-era South and not just involve vampires but also other Southern supernatural traditions.
However, further specifics have remained under wraps until DanielRPK (via CBM) reported today that the movie will be titled “Sinners” and confirms the recent rumor that Jordan will play twin brothers.
There’s even a brief synopsis: “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”
Delroy Lindo, Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku and Jack O’Connell co-star in the film with O’Connell rumored to be playing a racist villain.
Coogler also penned the script and is on board as lead producer along with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.
This will be Coogler’s first feature since “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” released a few years ago. He’s also been linked to a reboot of “The X-Files” at 20th Century Studios.
