“Challengers” and “La Chimera” star Josh O’Connor is reportedly attached to lead Kelly Reichardt’s next film “The Mastermind” which films next month in Cincinnati, Ohio according to World of Reel.
One of Reichardt’s more underrated works is 2013’s “Night Moves” – a character-driven heist thriller about three radical environmentalists blowing up a dam and the consequences of that.
It sounds like she’s returning to that genre of sorts with this period thriller in which O’Connor’s James Mooney character orchestrates an audacious art heist.
Events unfold around the time of the Vietnam War and the women’s liberation movement. Mooney must navigate a world marked by quickly shifting social and political dynamics while he pulls off his daring criminal activity.
Further specifics are under wraps with this information reportedly coming from a leaked casting notice for the film.
O’Connor is the only other name besides Reichardt currently attached to the project.
