Oscar-nominee Colman Domingo is in early talks to join Steven Spielberg’s upcoming untitled UFO film at Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures.
Domingo joins a cast that includes Emily Blunt, Colin Firth and Eve Hewson so far whilst Josh O’Connor has also been rumored.
The film is based on a story by Spielberg and has the filmmaker’s longtime collaborator David Koepp (“Jurassic Park,” “War of the Worlds”) penning the script.
Plot details are under wraps and Kristie Macosko Krieger is producing. The film has previously been rumored to have been titled “The Dish”.
Universal has dated the film for May 15th 2026 – his first Summer movie release since “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” in 2008.
Filming on the project is expected to kick off in February in New Jersey and Atlanta.
Domingo is coming off critical acclaim and awards nominations for his role in Netflix’s “Rustin”. He’s drawing strong reviews for his dramatic performance in “Sing Sing”.
He and Spielberg previously worked together on 2012’s “Lincoln”.
