Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” held strong in its second weekend at the box office, easily remaining on top with a further $51.6 million added to its coffers.
The film fell just 54% in its sophomore run, bringing its ten-day domestic total to $188 million. Overseas it snagged another $28.7 million, but the film is struggling to find traction there – its entire overseas gross being just $76.3 million so far.
The”Speak No Evil” remake debuted in second with an estimated $11.5 million domestically and $9.3 million overseas – a very good result for a film that cost just $15 million to produce. It also snagged a B+ CinemaScore from audiences which is high for a horror film.
Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” remained at No. 3 in its eighth weekend with an estimated $5.2 million domestic take. It’s now up to a total of $1.305 billion worldwide with $621.5 million of that being domestic.
Conservative docomaker Matt Walsh’s “Am I Racist?” had a better than expected debut in fourth place with an estimated $4.8 million with the help of strong business in conservative markets in the South, Midwest and Mountain States. It marks The Daily Wire’s first theatrical launch.
The Dennis Quaid-led Ronald Reagan biopic “Reagan” was fifth with $3 million in its third weekend. The loser this weekend was the Dave Bautista-led action film “The Killer’s Game” which made just $2.6 million along with poor reviews.
