On Thursday, the final trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance” launched with a good look at the third and final film with Tom Hardy’s Venom character.
The trailer also teased Knull, creator and God of the Symbiotes who seems to be serving as an antagonist here. It was a surprise inclusion, especially to Knull character creators Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman.
Both were reportedly unaware of their character being included in the film, and both indicated they should be financially compensated. Shortly after rumors emerged that Knull could go on to also be the villain in the upcoming fourth “Spider-Man” film.
Cut to Saturday night and Cates has revealed on X that he has been talking with Sony and has been able to read the script for the third “Venom”. The result?
“I’ll say this; it is so much bigger, and so much more ambitious than you can imagine. And, um…. KNULL. Holy s—. That’s how you treat a king.
I turn 40 today and there’s a movie being made where a character that Stegman and I created is fighting a character Todd McFarlane created. And, guess what? Everything else aside… nothing is going to rob me of thinking that’s f—– rad”
The comments come as a new promo for the film has gone up which ties in with the UFC – the clip up on Twitter sees Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock confronting UFC CEO Dana White and rising professional MMA champ Suga Sean O’Mailey.
“Venom: The Last Dance” is set to hit cinemas October 25th.
