Joaquin Phoenix was asked at a press conference yesterday at the Venice Film Festival about why he abruptly left Todd Haynes’ next film only five days before it began shooting.
According to Kyle Buchanan, he refused to address the topic – saying only: “It would just be sharing my opinion and the other creatives aren’t here to share their piece. It doesn’t feel like that would be right. I don’t think that would be helpful so I just don’t think I will. Thank you.”

Will & Harper
Netflix has released the first official trailer for the documentary “Will & Harper” which follows comedian Will Ferrell and his transgenfer friend Harper Steele on a road trip.
The pair have worked together ever since they co-wrote the 2020 film “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga”. Josh Greenbaum directs the film which hits cinemas September 13th and Netflix September 27th.
The Wolf Man
We still have yet to see any material from Universal Pictures and filmmaker Leigh Whannell’s new take on “The Wolf Man” beyond a logo – until late yesterday as part of the Halloween Horror Nights takeover at Universal Studios Orlando.
An actor was seen in a costume seemingly showing off the creature’s new look for the film – a look that has been met with a rough reception.
Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, Sam Jaeger and Matilda Firth co-star in the film in which a man seeks to protect himself and his family from a dangerous werewolf at night during a full moon. It opens January 17th.
