Acting veterans Alfred Molina, Alfre Woodard, Geena Davis, Bill Pullman, Denis O’Hare and Clarke Peters are all set to star in the supernatural mystery drama “The Boroughs” at Netflix.
The project marks the second recent series that “Stranger Things” creators the Duffer Brothers have been attached to that’s officially going forward since their show became a breakout hit for Netflix nearly a decade ago.
The pair will executive produce the eight-episode drama which also has “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance” creators Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews as showrunners and executive producers.
The series is set in a seemingly picturesque retirement community where a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don’t have… time.
Ben Taylor (“Sex Education,” “Catastrophe”) will direct multiple episodes, including the pilot. He and Hilary Leavitt also executive produce.
Netflix ordered the Duffers’ psychological horror series “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” back in July. That one will see them as executive producers with Haley Z. Boston creating and showrunning.
