Tom Hardy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have both signed on to lead the film adaptation of “Headhunters” and “The Snowman” author Jo Nesbo’s crime thriller novel “Blood On Snow”.
Hardy plays a gang leader named the Fisherman and Johnson a cold, efficient hitman named Olav in the story which unfolds in 1970s Oslo.
Two rival gang leaders – Hoffman and the Fisherman – vie for control. Olav is Fisherman’s most trusted assassin, but beneath his exterior lies intelligence and an unwavering moral code.
When Hoffman orders his own wife to be murdered, Olav’s principles clash with his loyalties. He hatches a scheme that makes him Hoffman’s next target and with nowhere safe to turn, Olav forms an uneasy alliance putting him right in the deadly gang war.
Cary Fukunaga, coming off helming the last Daniel Craig Bond film with “No Time to Die,” will direct the project from a script Nesbo wrote with revisions by Ben Power.
Hardy, Fukunaga, Nesbo, Niclas Salomonsson, Hayden Lautenbach, Mike Larocca, and Michael Schaefer produce. Filming on “Blood on Snow” begins later this year.
Both actors have Sony-Marvel projects coming up with Hardy’s “Venom: The Last Dance” and Johnson’s “Kraven the Hunter”.
