The third entry in Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” franchise is reportedly the most expensive of all, and the most expensive murder mystery ever made.
The InSneider reports that “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” clocks in at a budget of $210 million, over five times the cost of the $40 million original.
Though it’s far from the most expensive movies ever made, it will be up there with one of the most expensive films ever made that’s premiering directly on streaming.
Daniel Craig’s Southern-accented Benoit Blanc returns alongside a bunch of potential suspects, victims and killer.
The cast includes the likes of Josh Brolin, Josh O’Connor, Jeremy Renner, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Daryl McCormack and Glenn Close.
In the film Blanc sets out to solve a new murder mystery with photos from filming suggest scenes set in a sleepy English village. Shooting began in June in the United Kingdom and wrapped two weeks ago.
Johnson and Ram Bergman are producing with plans for a late 2025 release on the streamer.
