New story details have apparently emerged regarding Universal Pictures’ upcoming semi-reboot of its “Jurassic” franchise with “Jurassic World: Rebirth”.
Recently, the first photos from the currently in-production movie went online, showcasing stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali and the film’s first poster.
The film’s title was also revealed, and so far the reception to the name hasn’t been the greatest. A brief synopsis was also released at the time, but now SFF Gazette has posted what they claim to be a more detailed one.
That new synopsis reads as follows:
“The film will be set five years following the events of Jurassic World Dominion, when the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.
Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
Covert operations expert Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) attempts to secure the genetic material from the dinosaurs but ends up stranded with a civilian family on an island that holds a secret being kept from humanity for decades.”
Online scooper MyTimeToShineHello has posted a list of what is claimed to be the three major dinosaurs to be featured in the movie: the returning giant aquatic Mosasaurus, the Titanisaurus and the Quetzacoatlus.
Gareth Edwards directs the film which also stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise and David Iacono. It is scheduled to open July next year.
