Three weeks ago as part of its D23 presentation, Disney unveiled the first trailer for its live-action take on “Snow White”.
The film has been embroiled in controversy whilst in production over its casting and its ‘magical creatures’ but no-one was quite sure what the end product would look like until the trailer premiered.
In the past three weeks, that trailer has racked up over 8 million views on YouTube, but only 82,000 users have ‘liked’ the trailer so far which suggests not a lot of people are warming to it.
In fact, the SFF Gazette is reporting that the trailer has already received more than 1 million dislikes on YouTube.
The comments section for the trailer has surprisingly been left on and is filled with jokes, reactions, and some nastiness – in other words a typical YouTube comment section.
Disney has reportedly spent $209 million to produce the film, though the British tabloids have suggested a figure as much as 50% higher.
Greta Gerwig pens and Marc Webb directs the film which stars Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, Andrew Burnap, Ansu Kabia, Dujonna Gift and Martin Klebba. It opens March next year.
