Netflix is reportedly at work on a sequel series to iconic The WB/CW teen soap “One Tree Hill”.
Original series stars Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Daneel Ackles are executive producing with “Supernatural” alum Jensen Ackles also executive producing.
Bush and Burton would reprise their roles from the show with Ackles also in talks to return. No word yet on if other original series stars, most notably Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty, would also return at this time.
Bethany Joy Lenz, Paul Johansson and Lee Norris also starred in the series set in a North Carolina town and focused on the rivalry between half-brothers Lucas (Murray) and Nathan (Lafferty). As their lives began to mingle, the show grew into family drama.
Becky Hartman-Edwards (“Firefly Lane,” “Parenthood”) is attached to write and executive produce the series for Warner Bros. Television.
Mark Schwahn, the original creator who was publicly accused of assault and harassment in 2017, reportedly has no involvement in this follow-up.
