Tom Burke (“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”) and Maurizio Lombardi (“Ripley”) have both landed recurring roles in Alcon Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video’s “Blade Runner 2099” series.
Set in Los Angeles 2099, the series follows Cora (Hunter Schafer) who has lived her entire life on the run, forced to adopt numerous identities along the way.
To secure a stable future for her brother, she assumes one final identity and is forced to partner with a Blade Runner named Olwen (Michelle Yeoh) who is confronting the end of her life.
The two are pulled into a widening conspiracy that poses an existential threat to a city. No details are available on Burke or Lombardi’s characters.
Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, Katelyn Rose Downey, and Daniel Rigby also star in the series, while Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, and Matthew Needham guest star.
Silka Luisa (“Shining Girls”) is the writer, creator and showrunner with Jonathan Van Tulleken directing and Ridley Scott executive producing. Filming is underway in Prague and will move to Barcelona at a later date.
