Back in Action
Netflix’s Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx-led “Back in Action” has been delayed, pushed from its intended November 15th release to a January 17th 2025 drop on Netflix. No reason has been given for the two-month delay.

The film follows ex-CIA spies raising a family who find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown. Seth Gordon directs. [Source: Netflix]

Seventy-Two
Objectively Good Media is in early development on “Seventy-Two,” a biopic on actor, comedian and TV presenter Steve Harvey. Mohamed Kheir and Matthew R. Cooper will produce and no writer is yet attached.

The film centers on a transformative three day period ahead of a career-defining performance for a then 36-year-old Harvey at the legendary Apollo Theatre in 1993. [Source: Deadline]

The First Exorcist
“Wolf Creek,” “Jungle” and “Rogue” director Greg McLean will write and direct the Biblical times-set supernatural thriller “The First Exorcist” which will shoot next year in Victoria, Australia and will use virtual production tech (aka. The Volume) to help bring its vision to life.

A mother goes on a harrowing quest to save her daughter from demonic possession. She sets out on a perilous mission to meet a mysterious healer with the power to expel demons, trying to evade hostile Roman authorities along the way. [Source: Deadline]

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
AMC has released a brief video with Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride dressed as Daryl and Carol in Spain confirming that production has begun on the third season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”.

The news comes ahead of the six-episode second season which premieres on the network on September 29th and will see McBride’s return as Carol.

Maria
Netflix has acquired “Jackie” and “Spencer” director Pablo Larraín’s biopic “Maria,” starring Angelina Jolie as opera singer Maria Callas, for U.S. distribution. Steven Knight penned the film

This marks Netflix’s second film with Larraín directing following last year’s “El Conde” which landed a Best Cinematography Oscar nomination. The film has its world premiere tomorrow in Venice, check out the first clip from the film tomorrow:
