Get ready to head back to Tolkien’s Middle-Earth as Warner Bros. releases the official trailer for their upcoming animated film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. View trailer below.
Set 183 years before the events chronicled in the original trilogy of films, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” tells the fate of the House of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan. A sudden attack by Wulf, a clever and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking vengeance for the death of his father, forces Helm and his people to make a daring last stand in the ancient stronghold of the Hornburg— a mighty fortress that will later come to be known as Helm’s Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, Héra, the daughter of Helm, must summon the will to lead the resistance against a deadly enemy intent on their total destruction.
Oh wow…. I was wondering when the official trailer for this film was going to drop. It surely does look fantastic. There is no denying that Peter Jackson’s “Middle-Earth” trilogies (both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit) are beloved cinematic tales, bringing forth Tolkien’s fantasy world to life in such vivid and visual details. So, of course, to return to Jackson’s Middle-Earth through a different cinematic lens is quite an intriguing notion, which this upcoming project certainly does with its anime style animation that fuses the motifs of the Jackson’s work. The trailer itself looks quite impressive and surely looks to be quite an engaging film that chronicles Helm Hammerhand (and his daughter) on a desperate journey of courage and survival. I definitely can’t wait to see this movie.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim opens in theaters on December 13th, 2024
