Reliable exhibition tracking scooper EmpireCityBO has posted a report indicating that an announcement about “Oppenheimer” and “Inception” filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s next film is coming shortly.
They indicate in the next few weeks it’s expected a release date for the film will be announced and they think it’s going to be July 17th 2026.
They add that Universal and Warner Bros. Pictures are aggressively pushing to snag the film with Universal said to have the edge. There’s been no word as to what the film will be about.
On the other side of the Barbenheimer coin, actress Margot Robbie’s new film “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” has set a confirmed release date of May 9th 2025.
Sony Pictures is distributing the ‘female-focused project’ which co-stars Colin Farrell and follows two strangers who find that their lives cross in strange ways.
Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Hamish Linklater co-star in the film which Kogonada (“Columbus,” “After Yang”) will direct. Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Ryan Friedkin produce.
Robbie remains attached to multiple projects in development including a “Monopoly” film, an “Avengelyne” adaptation, a “Pirates of the Caribbean” spin-off and a film version of “The Sims”.
