A VR version of iconic video game “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” has been delayed indefinitely at Meta.
The company announced the project back in 2021 but further information on the title hasn’t been forthcoming.
Three years on, a representative from the company revealed in a comment on the Meta Quest’s official YouTube channel that the project is “on hold indefinitely” with other games taking priority.
IGN got in contact with Meta who went on to confirm this statement as legitimate and adds that they “look forward to collaborating more with Rockstar Games”.
In what capacity such collaborations could be were not revealed. Understandably this has led to the obvious question as to whether the game will ever get made with Meta quietly scrapping it at a later date.
Rockstar itself is busy prepping “Grand Theft Auto VI” which is expected to launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in Fall 2025.
