Apple TV+ has officially renewed its sci-fi series “Dark Matter” for a second season, the order coming just over a month after the first season wrapped on June 26th.
Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Oakes Fegley star in the series based on the Blake Crouch novel of the same name.
Edgerton stars as Jason Dessen, a physicist, professor and family man who – one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago – is abducted into an alternate version of his life.
When he tries to return to his reality and his true family amid the mind-bending labyrinth of lives he could have lived, he begins a harrowing journey to save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.
Crouch serves as the creator, executive producer, showrunner and writer on the series alongside executive producer Matt Tolmach. He says in a statement:
“In the process of writing and filming season one, we discovered that there’s so much more story to tell, and we’ve only scratched the surface of these characters as they fight for survival and to find their way home through a landscape of mind-bending realities. See you in the Box!”
Specifics of how well the series has performed have not been released by Apple.
