Colin Firth is in early talks to join Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor in Steven Spielberg’s next directorial effort at Amblin and Universal Pictures.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but people have been referring to it as Spielberg’s UFO project and one previously rumored title has been “The Dish”.
David Koepp (“Jurassic Park,” “War of the Worlds”) is penning the script based on a story by Spielberg.
Kristie Macosko Krieger is producing and the event film has set a May 15th 2026 release – his first major summer release in many years.
Filming on the project is expected to kick off in February in New Jersey and Atlanta.
This will mark the first time Firth and Spielberg have worked together. Firth recently wrapped Peacock series “Lockerbie” and has a role in Guy Ritchie’s new series “Young Sherlock”.
