Peacock has premiered the teaser trailer for its new sci-fi horror thriller series “Teacup” which is being executive produced by horror maestro James Wan.
Based on Robert McCammon’s bestselling novel “Stinger,” the series follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.
That sounds quite different from the book which was about a two aliens, one a rebel and one a bounty hunter, descending on a dying Texas mining town.
Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux star in the series.
The story is a mix of horror, mystery, and drama with the producers saying the series defies easy labels.
Ian McCulloch (“Yellowstone,” “Chicago Fire”) serves as showrunner while Michael Clear, Rob Hackett, Francisca X. Hu, Kevin Tancharoen produce and E.L. Katz directs.
“Teacup” will premiere on Peacock on October 10th.
