Two new games based on John Carpenter’s slasher genre-defining 1978 horror classic “Halloween” are in development at Boss Team Games reports IGN.
Both games are apparently being developed in conjunction with the producers of the film franchise, with one of the titles being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and will include input from Carpenter himself.
Carpenter says in a statement: “As a huge gamer myself, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and my hope is to scare you silly”. Additionally, the report indicates Carpenter will be “intimately involved” with the game’s development.
The games will reportedly allow players to “relive moments from the film and play as classic characterse from one of the most iconic and important horror films of all time.”
Boss Team Games, who were behind the well-regarded “Evil Dead: The Game,” are developing the title in association with Compass International Pictures and Further Front.
Very few games based on the “Halloween” franchise have been made over the years, though Michael Myers/The Shape has been a part of the popular “Dead by Daylight” game.
